Aaron Roessler
MC
Aaron Roessler (they/them) is a senior at UMD enjoying their last few weeks before graduation. Aaron is from Waseca, MN, and is majoring in Music with a minor in Deaf Studies. After graduation, Aaron aspires to attend law school and go on to practice law and work in public policy, advocating for a better society. Aaron is beyond excited to be your MC for this year's Startup Cup and wishes all the best to all of the contestants this year.
Bob Libal
Event Director
Bob Libal is the Event Director for the 2021 UMD Startup Cup. Bob coordinates all activities relating to the day of the competition and ensures that the event goes off without a hitch. Bob is from Two Harbors, MN, and is a Senior at UMD studying Healthcare Management. He is currently interning in operations administration at Essentia Health and is starting a Master’s in Public Health Administration and Policy at the University of Minnesota in the fall.
Rachel Mummah
Internal Relations Director
Rachel Mummah is the Internal Relations Director for the 2021 UMD Startup Cup and is responsible for all campus communications for the event. She is majoring in Accounting with a minor in Entrepreneurship, graduating in May 2022. Rachel is currently interning at WSB Engineering and will continue in the position this summer. The internship has taught her several skills she carried into the planning of the Startup Cup, such as detail orientation and effective interpersonal communication.
Ziggy Pha
Communications and Graphic Design Director
Ziggy Pha is the Communications and Graphic Design Director for the 2021 UMD Startup Cup. He works with the social media, website, and communications for the Startup Cup. Ziggy is from Coon Rapids, MN, and is a senior at UMD studying Graphic Design and Marketing. As a designer, Ziggy has helped develop campaigns for companies such as Target, Radisson Hotels, and was recently invited to contribute to a new collection at Stanford University.
Mikena Senarighi
External Outreach Director
MIkena Senarighi is the External Outreach Director for the 2021 UMD Startup Cup. She is responsible for pairing up the Student Entrepreneurs with Business Professional mentors. Mikena is from New Brighton, MN, and is a Senior studying Marketing and Professional Sales. This past summer she had the opportunity to complete a Marketing and Sales internship with TTI.
Katelyn Glaser
Finance Director
Katelyn Glaser is the Finance Director for the 2021 UMD Startup Cup. She is a Junior at UMD double majoring in Accounting and Management Information Systems. This past summer Katelyn was an Accounting Intern in Regulatory Finance at UnitedHealth Group where she enhanced her budgeting capabilities, organizational skills, and filing management that were all incorporated into the making of this event.
Joel Martinez
Sales and Sponsorship Director
Joel Martinez is the Sales and Sponsorship Director for the 2021 UMD Startup Cup. He is responsible for pursuing and securing new local sponsorship sales. Joel is from Melrose, MN, and is a senior at UMD studying Marketing and professional sales. Joel is currently a marketing intern for the UMD Athletic department and has recently competed in the first annual Gopher/Bulldog sales competition. During his free time, he enjoys snowboarding and exploring the North Shore with friends all while maintaining social distancing.
